No one EVER "knows enough not to mess up". I've been using and managing
computers for YEARS and I still make the occasional stupid mistake.
So I hedge myself around with safeguards to protect the mistakes I usually
make.
Annoying confirmations should have a disable. This one should not. Running
gmc as root is an even EASIER way to destroy the filesystem than 'rm -rf /*'
is and it has even less safeguards.
Just my two cents.
