Problems with Panel on Solaris

Compiled up all of Gnome on Solaris 2.6 (gnome-core-1.0.7).  There is a 
problems with applets in the Panel.
I can eventually add all the Applets to the Panel,  but when I exit panel
and go back in some of them are not there anymore and I have to add them again,
e.g. Printer Applet, Mailcheck, Clock,  Drive Mount etc etc.  Less than 
half the applets can be added and are then when I go back into panel.  

Anyone else seen this problem?

Don't have the same problem with Linux.  But if I add them with Linux and start
panel up on Solaris the applets don't appear.  If I try on Linux again they
have been removed from there as well.
