Hi Everyone,
I am trying to install gnome-utils-1.0.12. It compiles fine but when I
issue the command "make install", the installation starts off fine but
then freezes for no apparent reason. The output I get is the following:
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/gnome-utils-1.0.12/intl'
Making install in macros
make[1]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/gnome-utils-1.0.12/macros'
make[2]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/gnome-utils-1.0.12/macros'
make[2]: Nothing to be done for `install-exec-am'.
It just sits at the last statement until I issue a control-C at which
point a bunch of other messages show up, namely:
make[2]: *** wait: No child processes. Stop.
make[2]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
make[2]: *** wait: No child processes. Stop.
make[1]: *** wait: No child processes. Stop.
make[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
make[1]: *** wait: No child processes. Stop.
make: *** wait: No child processes. Stop.
make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
make: *** wait: No child processes. Stop.
And the installation fails.
Has anyone seen this behaviour and is there a work-around?
