gnome-pilot installation problem

hi all!
i just got a palm pilot professional
and wanted to install the available gnome software for it
i  dl pilot link.tgz und gnome-pilot-0.1.11 and tried to install it
pilot link compiled but i cant figure out how to use it and what to do
with it!
and on compiling gnome-pilot-0.1.11.tgz i get the following error
(btw i cant install the rpm cause its glibc2.1 and i only got 2.0_
error:

can anyone tell me whats wrong and how to fix it?

and btw (i hope u are not angry because this question is not gnome
related)
where can i get some cool programms for the pilot like web browser..
a cool e mail programm (perhaps even better than the one included?
and other stuff? anyone can gimme a url? or description how to install
the stuff? would be really happy
