compiled glib, gtk+, ORBit, gnome-libs, gnome-core, balsa, ee, genius, and
control-center, and still getting the same EXACT problem as I was when I
started.. program starts, then dies with a core dump. all of em except
for ee and genius. Here is bt from balsa:
(gdb) run
Starting program: /opt/gnome/bin/balsa
Unable to connect to server port 35091
This generally means that the program could not talk to the esound server
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

ANY suggestions? Its been doing this for 2 weeks.. I've tried
completely removing glib, gtk, and all the gnome stuff. that means rm -rf
/opt/gnome ; removing all *.m4 files accordingly, and recompiling from
CLEAN, fresh, new tarball snapshots. A few have had this problem, or
similar, but with no response...
i586-linux-pc-glibc2
glibc-2.0.7-29 rpms, egcs1.0, libtool-1.2d, autoconf-1.3, automake-1.3,
cvs snaps of glib, gtk+, ORBit, gnome-libs, gnome-core, control-center,
balsa, ee, genius, audiofile, esound, imlib, etc.
thanx
