Yes, and then we have to administer read-only CVS accounts on all the
mirrors...
I don't think nightly snapshots (aka "downloading the whole kaboom") are
bandwidth efficient or convenient. rsync is more efficient for sure, but you
would have to keep the CVS repository as well as your local checkout on disk.
When PRCS2 becomes a viable alternative, it will probably be used, because it
is supposed to be a lot more efficient.
For now, if you find snapshot tarballs convenient, by all means use them. I
would like to also try to continue to have anoncvs operational for those who
prefer using it.
