No. Just copy the commented line, replace xdm with gdm, uncomment it again
:-) and enjoy(*). Don't mess around with start scripts if you don't know
what you do (they have to adhere to certain standards in order for you to
be happy).

(*): For these changes to take effect, do this as root:

telinit q
killall xdm
