I have a Redhat 5.2 system with 2.0.36 kernel and am trying to install
Gnome for the first time. Following the directions on the web site I
upgraded the necessary packages from the redhat cd and then after
downloading all the rpm's from the gnome directory from ftp I get the
following:
root@localhost:~/downloads/gnome> rpm -Uvh *.rpm
failed dependencies:
libungif.so.3 is needed by control-center-0.99.8.1-3
libungif.so.3 is needed by enlightenment-0.15.0-28
libungif.so.3 is needed by fnlib-0.4-3
gnome-audio is needed by gnome-libs-0.99.8.1-2
libungif is needed by imlib-1.9.3-1
libungif.so.3 is needed by imlib-1.9.3-1
gtk+ = 1.0.6 is needed by gtk+-devel-1.0.6-3
any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dennis
