gdm & nis

Hi,
here I have a debian-slink with nis enabled.
GDM refuses to compile because of a missing function.
I found out that adding "-lnss_nis" to LIBS (i did that directly in
the Makefile) solves the problem.
This should be a configure problem, but I do not know how to handle
that ;-(
