Recommended gnome startup

Hi guys.  

Is the recommended way to start up your window manager and GNOME
still:

	<windowmanager> & exec gnome-session

I'm using that, and noticing that when I select 'Log out' from the panel 
it doesn't work the first time, or the second, but finally kicks in on 
the third time.

This is gnome-libs and gnome-core out of the CVS from this morning.
