gnome-core-0.99.5.1.tar.gz -- cannot build RPM

Well, I've seen the suggestion of doing 'rpm -ta <tarball>' in order
to generate an installable RPM, so I decided to try it out. I
downloaded gnome-core-0.99.5.1.tar.gz, and did --

    rpm -ta gnome-core-0.99.5.1.tar.gz

My output from this is as follows --

gunzip: stdin: unexpected end of file

gunzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
    File /home/ztf/gnome-rpms/gnome-core-0.99.3.2.tar.gz: No such file
or directory

The gnome-core.spec file included in the tarball has the line

    %define ver 0.99.3.2

which I assume (since I'm not an RPM guru) is the problem. I'm trying
again after editing the version number and recreating the .tar.gz file,
and it seems to be configuring itself now ...

FYI,

Zach
