Odd.  Perhaps this is bound to the Hyper_L key.  That's what I've set
the left flag key to generate.  You might try something like:

xmodmap -e "keycode 115 = Hyper_L"
xmodmap -e "add mod3 = Hyper_L"

If that doesn't do the trick, you'll probably get a better response on
the sawmill mailing list.
