Yes. Check if something along this:

none                    /dev/pts                devpts  gid=5,mode=620 0 0

is in your fstab, if not add it (e.g. right after the proc line) and
"mount /dev/pts". Unix98 ptys need this pseudo filesystems mounted there
(at least on Linux).
