If you want to get a libglade based applet into gnome-core, you should
talk with the maintainers about this. It may be better to put it in
gnome-applets (which has been split off from gnome-core for the 1.1
series).
It will probably just require an extra check in configure, and
conditionally compile your applet based on that check.
