Error when compiling gnome-core

I've got a 4-16-1999 cvs of gnome-core, gnome-libs, glib, etc. and I'm
trying to compile it on a FreeBSD 3.1 box.

Everything compile (more or less) ok. I've been throwing my bins and libs
into /opt/gnome/bin and /opt/gnome/lib respectively. Then I get to
gnome-core. I run make, it chugs for a bit and then spits out:

Making all in po

I'm confused. What's it doing? How do I stop/fix it?
