Re: um..help? (dependencies)



I've seen it suggested that you not use upgrade (-U) when installing the
latest guile package.  That supposedly keeps so.2 there.  But the .h files
step on each other, from what I've seen.

What I did was I just upgraded the gnome packages with --nodeps, then went
to /usr/lib and made a link from so.2 to so.4:

undertow:/usr/lib 12>ls -alpo libguile.so*
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root           17 Mar 14 07:23 libguile.so ->
libguile.so.4.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root           13 Apr 11 20:18 libguile.so.2 ->
libguile.so.4
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root           17 Mar  9 15:32 libguile.so.4 ->
libguile.so.4.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x   1 root       533550 Feb 27 10:37 libguile.so.4.0.0

Gnumeric & the games seem to work A-OK.
