Hya.

Am I the only one here still using 14.4k modem? If I'm the only one to bitch
about this then it's got to be the case. I'm talking about any gnomified
ORBit-using program taking ages to start if my bandwidth is swallowed by some
bandwidth-sucking process, e.g. ftp. Once started, the program runs normally.
The only reason for this behavior I can come up with is using the interface
of an ISP-awarded address, like ppp0, instead of the good, old, _fast_
loopback.

Please note that I'm new to this list and have no knowledge if this was
discussed before.
