Before you upgrade anything else, make sure you have the four files:
  glib-1.2.0-1.i386.rpm
  glib10-1.0.6-4.i386.rpm
  gtk+-1.2.0-2.i386.rpm
  gtk+10-1.0.6-4.i386.rpm

Then, from the directory where these files are, run:
rpm -Uvh glib-1.2.0-1.i386.rpm glib10-1.0.6-4.i386.rpm gtk+-1.2.0-2.i386.rpm gtk+10-1.0.6-4.i386.rpm

The errors you are getting are because many of your Red Hat packages need
glib and gtk+ version 1.0.6, while your GNOME packages need glib and gtk+
version 1.2. Doing the above first will ensure that both versions of
both libraries are installed, and all packages can find them.

Best of Luck,
