Re: gdm on debian (pam problem?)

On 27 Sep, Edward Betts shouted:
-> I have been trying to get gdm, the Gnome Display Manager to work on debian,
-> because I am bored of xdm.
->
-> I installed the pam libaries using dselect, recomplied gnome-libs 3.0 myself
-> and complied gdm, it runs but when i enter my username and password it tells
-> me they are wrong when they aren't. This is probably a pam problem has anyone
-> else tryed this, or have any thoughts?

actually I tried this yesterday - same on RH. not sure what's wrong but
second call of the pam stuff is getting an invalid username - it seems.
i havent hadmuhc time to investigate - went back to xdm now.. i want ot
log in again.. :)

-> If you want to try for yourself gdm is only avaliable from the gnome anon cvs
->  server.
