gnome-session (not only) questions and suggestions

1. Yesterday I've complained about missing WM from the list of programs to be
run upon startup. Probably this was done intentionally, and someone could
explain me with your fingers, how otherwise gnome-session should know which
WM to run? After adding fvwm to preload list it works well

2. Mentioned yestrday coredump, created upon exiting from X was from
gen-utils-applet --clock. I have also noticed a warning about boolean type
mismatch, although this may be related to logout dialog - it asked me
several times, I've choosed not to ask next time, but it still did.

3. Background did not restored by default, requiring background-properties-init
be added to preload list too. Just curious - should this be the same for
other properties (mouse, keys, etc)? So why not add something global for
properties restoring to default list?

4. Swallowed application gets run twice, when using gnome-session. Using
manual sequence to start X session (i.e.
	panel&
	background-properties-init&
	exec fvwm
)
runs it once, as expected.

5. Why lot of .p* files in home directory, related to session control not
to move somewhere inside ~/.gnome? And obsoleted files may be removed - anyway
I did not find how to run another session. Probably additional menu entries
required i.e. "Save session" and "Load session" with ability to pick another
session file.

6. Why orbit special device files in tmp did not get removed upon logout?

Hope this will be useful.
Have a nice day,
Alex
