WTB: CORBA experience

hi all
i'm interested in working with CORBA to get a better understanding of it
on a nuts-and-bolts level (and to decide how well i like it), and i figure
that i might as well make a start at helping with the GNOME project at the
same time.  if someone could direct me toward the areas which need
the most attention either within ORBit or using it, i'd appreciate it.
