"Level" Widget?

Is there some form of level widget?

I'm thinking of the little indicators that resemble horizontal or vertical
progress meters, that might be green when "low", yellow when "medium", and red
when "high".

They're useful for showing load, volume level, network or drawing lag, etc.
Especially tucked away in a status bar.

Is there one in GNOME or GTK+? If not, consider this an "idea."
