libungif?

i've been quietly downloading the daily gnome snapshot RPMS so i could get
a feel for how the project is coming along, but this morning i was stopped
in my tracks by something completely new:

man:mnelson> panel
panel: error in loading shared libraries
libungif.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

ummmm, what is libungif?  where do i get it (it didn't arrive in my
nightly mirror of the gnome snapshot, and a 'site exec locate ungif' at
ftp.redhat.com turned up nothing)?

just for kicks, i tried symlinking libungif.so.3 to libgif.so.3.0.0 but
that didn't work too well :o)

any suggestions?
