gnome-libs build error

I tried to build gnome-libs, and saw this:

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I.. -I./.. -I/usr/local/include
-I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -DNEED_GNOMESUPPORT_H
-I../support -I../support -DGNOMELIBDIR=\"/usr/local/lib\"
-DGNOMEDATADIR=\"/usr/local/share\" -DGNOMEBINDIR=\"/usr/local/bin\"
-DGNOMELOCALSTATEDIR=\"/usr/local/var\"
-DGNOMELOCALEDIR=\"/usr/local/share/locale\" -I/usr/lib/glib/include
-I/usr/X11R6/include -g -O2 -Wp,-MD,.deps/gnome-app.p -c gnome-app.c
>/dev/null 2>&1
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/include/gdk_imlib.h', needed by
`gnome-app-helper.lo'. Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/home/andersee/gnome/gnome-libs/libgnomeui'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/home/andersee/gnome/gnome-libs'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

Now this is interesting, because I installed imlib in /usr/local so it
wouldn't get in the way of my normally installed Debian stuff.

andersee@dillweed% ls /usr/local/include/gdk_imlib.h
/usr/local/include/gdk_imlib.h

Anybody have any ideas???
