Problem running Panel (assertion failed)

Hi,
I have donwloaded and installed all the gnome's RPMs sucessfully. When I try to run the panel, I get this:
fredx:~#: panel
debug: need old_cfg here
address.cc:438: assertion failed
adresss.cc:438: assertion failed
Aborted (core dumped)
I'm running RedHat 5.0
