Not completely.  I now have two screens on my desk.  One is my real
computer, and the other is a PC configured as an X terminal.  With
xmove and x2x, I can treat them as a single wide display.

Oh, I suppose I could do it with a single machine with two VGA boards, 
but that would be unusual, and unusual is not likely to be reliable.

But in context, it's a moot point, since one set of speakers suffices
for both machines.  :)
