gnome on sgi o2

hi -

i'm trying to compile gnome on an sgi o2, and have run into a problem with unresolved symbols that i cannot figure out.

i have installed:
automake (GNU automake) 1.3
Autoconf version 2.12
libtool (GNU libtool) 1.2
gettext - GNU gettext 0.10

and then checked out from cvs and built (in this order):

gtk+
imlib
gnome-libs
mico

and finally gnome-core, and this is where the problem begins.  when i try to build it it fails to link panel with the following errors:
