configure.usage



 XEmacs 20.5 has a file called "configure.usage" that contains the
 output of `configure --help'.  The "configure.in" is set up to page
 that file, rather than printing the stuff out from within it.  In
 other words, they've separated the help output from the configure
 script, so you can view it easily with `less', prior to the creation
 of the `configure' script with `autoconf'.

 I think that's a good idea, and it would be helpful if GNOME, Gimp,
 and Gtk+ did that also.
