stuff

Okay, I finally installed a bigger root disk so I could install
Gnome. Looks pretty cool. Couple of observations:

o Network utilities are just wrappers around ping/traceroute, but why
can't I select the output to put in the clipboard? Network
utilities has no menu bar, and has an exit button in the lower
right. I thought we were aiming for consistency? When should a
program have a menu bar, and when should it be a dialog box?

o Someone else noted that when you right-click on something on the
panel, the mouse is now over something. Let go, and you just
selected it. Oops. Yup, they were right, it's a lose.

o Someone noted that the panel needs to be able to swallow the wm's
pager. Yup. Also'd be nice to replace the clock with asclock.

o I notice that combo boxes don't contain the current option when
they pop up. This is not good, because it means that you can't
just set one thing in a dialog box. It means that you have to set
all your combo boxes to have the current thing, THEN you can make
the simple change you wanted. Ugh.

o Panel configure dialog box has "Apply", and "Cancel". This seems
confusing to me. What if I Apply the changes, then click Cancel.
Do I get the original values back?
