GNOME according to Zappa

Hi,

Miguel recently posted a list of slogans for GNOME. Well, I was
listening to some Zappa disk when I read that post and that got me
thinking about trying out some song titles as slogans. I liked them
not too bad. Maybe some of you can get a giggle out of this, too.

  GNOME: Pygmy Twylyte
  GNOME: G-Spot Tornado
GNOME: Let's Make The Water Turn Black
  GNOME: City of Tiny Lights
  GNOME: Sinister Footware
GNOME: Where We Ever Really Safe In Redmond?
GNOME: Once Again, Without The Net
GNOME: Too Ugly For Show Business
GNOME: Is That All There Is?
  GNOME: Absolutely Free
GNOME: The Chrome Plated Megathing of Destiny
  GNOME: Cosmik Debris
  GNOME: The Torture Never Stops
  GNOME: Trouble Every Day
GNOME: My Desktop Wants to Kill Your Mama
GNOME: Shall We Take Ourselves Seriously?
  GNOME: Excentrifugal Forz
  GNOME: The Evil Prince
  GNOME: Teen-Age Wind
  GNOME: The Project From Utopia
  GNOME: Strictly Genteel
  GNOME: The Central Scrutinizer
  GNOME: Keep It Greasy
GNOME: The First Church of Appliantology
  GNOME: Can't Afford No Shoes
  GNOME: Cheap Thrills
  GNOME: Stuff up the Cracks
  GNOME: Dummy Up
GNOME: We Are Only In It For The Money

And my current favorite:

  GNOME: Penguin in Bondage

Ok, while I'm at it, here is a text I found in the booklet from "Joe's
Garage" by FZ (around 1979 I think) that I find strangely fitting for
what is going on just now with MS and IP and stuff.

  Eventually it was discovered
  That God
Did not want us to be
  All the same

  This was
  Bad News
For the Governments of The World
  As it seemed contrary
  To the doctrine of
  /Portion Controlled Servings/

Mankind must be made more uniformly
  If
  The Future
  Was going to work

  Various ways were sought
  To bind us all together
  But, alas
  Same-ness was unenforcable

  It was about this time
  That someone
Came up with the idea of
  Total Criminalization

  Based on the principle that
  If we were All crooks
We could at least be uniform
  To some degree
  In the eyes of
  The Law

  Shrewdly our legislators calculated
  That most people were
  Too lazy to perform a
  Real Crime
  So new laws were manufactored
  Making it possible for anyone
To violate them any time of the day or night,
  And
Once we had all broken some kind of law
We'd all be in the same big happy club
Right up there with the President
  The most excalted industrialists,
  And the clerical big shots
  Of all your favorite religions

  Total Criminalization
Was the greatest idea of its time
  And was vastly popular
  Except with those people
Who didn't want to be crooks or outlaws,

So, of course, they had to be
  Tricked Into It ...
Which is one of the reasons why
  Music
  Was eventually made
  Illegal.
