ok.. here is the complete output:

its an redhat-5.1 linux with 
autoconf 2.12.2
automake-1.3d
libtool-1.2
.. maybe this has something to do with my problem ....

I tried it with and without the 'stable' checkout but the result is 
everytime the same.
