not a crime, but a waste. think about it:

if you're replacing the windows user interface, you're getting rid of
all those windows apps in favor of running gnome apps. if you're going
to get rid of all the windows apps, you might as well install linux in
the process and thereby give yourself a proven stable platform on which
to run gnome. (_and_ you'll have access to thousands of non-gnome linux
apps in the process.)

what's that you say? you're not allowed to install linux on your win32
box at work? well, then, i highly doubt you're going to be allowed to
make radical changes like replacing the interface either, now, are you?
surely your is department isn't that stupid... :)

cheers anyway. let's get this reference platform nailed first, then we
can use gnome as a tool for taking over the world at a more fundamental
level (the os) rather than wasting time on the more superficial stuff.
