[Since people usually just put subject lines like "Can't compile
gnome-libs", is there any chance of getting a search function added to the
mailing list archives? otherwise, they aren't that helpful.]
Anyway... I got gnome-libs from CVS (16:00 EST 12/15), got it to
compile. During the install, I get:
../libgnome/gnome-gen-mimedb /opt/gnome/etc/mime-magic
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Unresolved symbol: program_invocation_name (data) from
/home/cerebus/2inst/t/gnome-libs/libgnome/.libs/libgnome.sl.30
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Unresolved symbol: program_invocation_short_name (data)
from /home/cerebus/2inst/t/gnome-libs/libgnome/.libs/libgnome.sl.30
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Unresolved module for symbol:
gnomelib_register_popt_table (code) from
/home/cerebus/2inst/t/gnome-libs/libgnome/.libs/libgnome.sl.30
make[1]: *** [install-data-local] IOT trap (core dumped)
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/cerebus/2inst/t/gnome-libs/gnome-data'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
It looks like program_invocation_name and short_name are defined in
support/gnome-argp.c, and my config.h does not have
HAVE_PROGRAM_INVOCATION_NAME defined. However, looking in that directory
after a make, there is no gnome-argp.o :(
This is on an HP-UX 10.20 system, with gcc 2.8.1. Is there some
--not-a-linux-system flag to configure that I am missing? It seems that
the problems just keep getting worse and worse.
Thanks
-Dan
