When I _compile_ gnome-libs, I don't have any problems, but when I run
a gnome program, I get:

itp@geodesic:~/gnome/gnome-games/gnomine$ ./gnomine
./gnomine: error in loading shared libraries
/opt/gnome/lib/libgnomeui.so.0: undefined symbol: _gdk_imlib_data

So probably not a problem limited to you.
