Berkeley DB 2.x and GNOME

I do believe that the license of DB 2.x allows this iff you do not
expose the DB 2.x internal interfaces to userland.  

I do not know the details of this, but glibc2 uses it internally,
probably Ulrich can tell us how is this managed by glibc2?
