nothing compiles anymore ???

I just moved to RH 5.2 and I cannot recompile anything
with gnome :

- I have just sent a message about libtool not present even it is there
- trying to compile libgtop lead to some crazy thing :
 - a file conftest is splitted in 2 or 3 parts each of them being syntaxically incorrect:

creating src/Makefile
sed: file conftest.s1 line 85: Unterminated `s' command
sed: file conftest.s2 line 1: Unknown command: ``-''


contest.s1 ends up with :

s%@ORBIT_CFLAGS@%-I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/include%g
s%@ORBIT_LIBS@%Usage: orbit-config [OPTION]... [TARGET]...

Known values for OPTION are:

  --prefix=DIR          change ORBit prefix [default /usr]
  --exec-prefix=DIR     change ORBit executable prefix [default /usr]

and conftest.s2 starts with :


  --libs                print library linking information
  --cflags              print pre-processor and compiler flags
  --help                display this help and exit
  --version             output version information

Known values for TARGET are:

    client              (calls glib-config)
    server              (calls glib-config)%g
s%@HAVE_GNORBA_TRUE@%%g
s%@HAVE_GNORBA_FALSE@%#%g

What's wrong ?
