GNOME Panel/Gnome-session

Hi,

I recently downloaded the latest GNOME panel from ftp.debian.org. When
I run gnome-session, panel doesn't seem to be remembering the state it was
in (eg current applets,etc...) when restarted. It always starts with only
the main menu and clock applets. (Note: panel does remember its state
when started without gnome-session) Has this been implemented yet in
gnome-session? I do see the following output in my .xsession-errors file
which suggests that it is saving something:

SESSION_MANAGER=local/gamera:/tmp/.ICE-unix/22242,tcp/gamera:12388
icewm: Command not found.
subshell.c: couldn't get terminal settings: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Message: Initializing CORBA for panel

** WARNING **: Could not open help topics file NULL

Saving to [/panel.d/Session-11808abddf000091255679400000222420003/]
Saving session: 1 2 3 4

If this feature has not yet been implemented, that's fine. I'm just
wondering if I have installed it correctly.
