panel (start applications)

Hello,

It seems that panel starts a login-shell to start a application. This
causes problems, because the environemnt is not passed throu to the
application. So something like:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=..../GNOME/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export PATH=..../GNOME/bin:$PATH
panel

does not work.
