Corba problem with panel

well seeing that someone else had a problem with CORBA not working
in the panel, I will state my own.

when I try to launch the panel, it says initializing CORBA, then
sits there for (seriously) 5 minutes or so.

wait I recreated the problem. ok I start panel and it says

message: Initializing CORBA for panel

then I wait 3 minutes (according to the timer) then it said

** WARNING **: Attempt to remove connection 0x8097e20 - not on active list

** WARNING **: file orbit-glue.c: line 589 (panel_corba_gtk_init): assertion "ev._major == CORBA_NO_EXCEPTION" failed.

it finally started however I can't use ANY applets.   this looks a lot like
the other bug someone had, except that they received a sigpipe.  This 
has been really pissing me off and has caused me to stop using the panel.

I have tried ORBit 2.1 and various cvs snapshots.  currently I use the latest
gnome tarballs from the ftp site and some I have from the cvs server.

curiously enough, the panel worked liek a charm with ORBit 2 and gnome .25

Anyway, if someone could look into this (and the other person's problem) I'd
much appreciate it.
