GTK+ 1.1.1 etc

Hi

I have done a total reinstall and most
all went well cept for GTK
now I get a shared lib error and if I do
an rpm -q on GTK it says
it's not installed but if I try to
install it I get dependencies on
libgtk.so.1
& libgdk.so.1 and won't install.  If I
do an rpm -Uvh --replacefiles
--replacepkgs --nodeps the try rpm -q
gtk it's still not installed is there
a way to complie gtk in and update the
links.

I can't run gtop at present and theres
something running my CPU to 90%
after running the panel and I don't know
what it is
