Portability

I must say that I'm quite impressed that GNOME is so portable.  I have
compiled it (from CVS) on Solaris 2.6, and it only needed some small
modifications to work.

I also use a build directory separate from the source directory.  This
also works quite well.  Some Makefiles needed a little tweaking.

What kind of systems have GNOME been built on?
