wierd hostname change after make distclean

Hi
	After running 'make distclean' in gnome-admin, I find out my
hostname (as far as the shell is concerned) has been changed:

rm -f config.status
rm -f libtool
-s ROOT 9% 
-s ROOT 9% hostname
-s
-s ROOT 10% hostname quepasa
-s ROOT 11% hostname
-s
-s ROOT 12%

Only after logging out, then logging in, it gets reset.  Odd.
