has someone successfully developed gnome apps on a SuSE system? quite some
stuff in gnome seems redhat specific, e.g. the standalone-hello-world that
was ripped from cvs has paths to */i486-redhat-linux/* or similiar
hardcoded.
end of line: no matter what I do, I can't get a gnome-app to compile.
building gnome does NOT give me a gnome-config file, the gnome-config.c
seems to be a part of libgnome instead. gnomeConf.sh does not set the
correct variables, a makefile with them included still bombs out with
various "file not found" in both include files and libraries.
automake and configure run well only if I exclude the support and intl
subdirs. a make runs until linktime when it bombs out with missing
references to dgettext, gettext in libgnomeui and bindtextdomain in
libgnome.
I'll try a complete system reinstall (that's my development machine anyway)
but I'd be happy for any hints. is my system really that fucked up or is
gnome really that redhat-specific?
