Hi Martin,

There was a thread about slib and guile recently.  The scoop is that
you need to grab a very recent Guile to use with slib 2c0, since
slib 2c0 uses a very different and incompatible mechanism to maintain
its catalog, which is built at runtime instead of install-time.

So get a current Guile snapshot from ftp://ftp.red-bean.com/pub/guile/
and then follow the SLIB installation procedure, which is
(surprisingly) documented in the Guile reference manual (which, by the 
way, is in a separate snapshot on the ftp site).

I'll bounce you (separately) a couple of recent messages from this
list about the subject which say a bit more.
