This is not surprising. VNC was designed to be able to run on fairly
minimal devices. The only thing really stored on the client side is the
framebuffer image. The client sends input events to the server (mouse
movements/clicks and key presses), and the server sends updates to
rectangular areas of the screen back to the client. If you want a
smarter display system, you could try X on the client :)
