hi, just came across this presentation on GNOME & The Indian Perspective by folks at Wipro. Nice work and it does make one wonder (as well as ponder) about a few points raised. before i delve further in - a simple request to all members of GNOME India who do talk about GNOME and matters pertaining to GNOME & India at various fora: Please do ensure that the presentations/talk notes/notes are circulated perhaps as downloadable files to the GNOME India list. That, i believe is the basic purpose of the list - to share information and to pool knowledge. that said, it is a curious discrepancy that the Bengali L10n is missing from the list of GNOME L10n in India. one wonders if the Ankur Bangla Project is doing enough to get some notice in India (as per Sayamindu, Ankur is part of IBM Redbook for this year - but what about India dear ?) this is a marketing list and not a technical list per se. however, to effectively 'sell' GNOME perhaps we need to re-think and re-look at various aspects of the DE incl perhaps ease-of-use and HI factors. it would also be better to pro-actively project applications and solutions developed in India based on the GNOME toolchain. waiting for more inputs on this warm regards sankarshan ---------------------------------------- One must always be drunk..... on wine, poetry or virtue, according to taste ----------------------------------------
