There has recently been an unannounced string freeze breakage in the
string frozen gnome-vfs HEAD branch.
It is this added message:
#: libgnomevfs/eggdesktopentries.c:670
msgid "desktop entry does not start with legal start group"
The ChangeLog entry is this one:
2004-10-18 Ray Strode <rstrode redhat com>
* libgnomevfs/eggdesktopentries.c
(egg_desktop_entries_parse_entry):
Error out if trying to add key-value pair to comment group
(Patch from Miloslav Trmac <mitr redhat com>)
No warning had been given in advance for this addition, even though the
string freeze is still in effect for GNOME 2.8 software, which means
that prior announcement and approval of string changes and string
additions is still needed, as described on
http://developer.gnome.org/dotplan/tasks.html#ApprovingFreezeBreaks.
Since gnome-vfs hasn't got a gnome-2-8 branch yet, gnome-vfs HEAD is
still string frozen.
Unless it can be argued that this is a very important patch, I'd suggest
it be reverted.
Christian
