If you need help, you can ask on the irc channel #i18n on irc.gnome.org

You should probably start by translating the pot files available on
http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gtp/status/gnome-2.1-core/. When you
have completed the translations, make sure they are encoded in UTF-8,
check them for errors with "msgfmt -cv ku.po" and gzip them, and then
you can send them to someone with cvs access that can commit them for
you. You can ask for help with committing on the #i18n channel, or you
can send the files to me.
