Hi,

For add an © shortcut edit your ~/.Xmodmap file and modify the next line as
seen here:

keycode  54 = c        C   copyright

Then you can press AltGr + c to insert the © character ...

This works with an la-latin1 keyboard map, but must be work with other
distributions ...
