Gnome 2 and font settings

Hi:

After much struggle, I've finally been able to setup a Gnome 2 (Beta 3 
system). Is there any info/doc on how to setup fonts for Gnome2? I setup the 
usual way (using xfs), but Gnome2 does not pickitup. I am using 
GDK_USE_XFT=1 setting. So I ran xftcache, and this time the fonts got listed 
on the font selection dialog box, but when I select the font, it does not 
use it. But if I change to any og the other fonts on the list, the font 
changes systemwide.

Also, are there any GUI tools (part of configuration) to install fonts in 
the Gnome2 environment?
